NY Daily News: Jay Leno doesn't appear to be winning anyone over with his move to retake "The Tonight Show," as Jimmy Kimmel and Rosie O'Donnell tell him to let Conan O'Brien keep the show. Jacobs Media: This Conan situation has become very bush league, and now involves too many of the key stakeholders - the network, the talent, the affiliates, advertisers, the other media, the blogosphere and, of course, the audience. The damage is widespread. It also speaks to the power of the personality in determining futures. Just 50? I thought that over 1,000 would jam the Clear Channel building. But only 50? Guess people have really moved on. Maybe big time million-dollar morning talk shows were so 1990s after all.
Weird Dream (Jan 14, 2010)It was pitch black at noon. Birds were chirping. Stars were out. The sun was out, but the sky was black. It wasn't a moon. The background music was "Grass" by XTC. Former DJ Mike Halloran was intro and outroing the song. He got a job at some radio station from Mars that was beaming back to Earth with a 100MW (megawatt) radio station!I was driving around Lakeside and the eastern sky was bright blue with the sight of several dozen Alpine radio station transmitters sitting on top of the hills in sight from a roadway. It was causing co-channel interference and I was picking up its strange contemporary hit music station featuring songs that were not hits. I drove to where the freeway was supposed to be, but there was no freeway. The road simply ended as a living room den. The old man told me that Governor Schwartzenegger had Caltrans take away all of the freeways and put them in a storage farm near Sacramento until people would agree to pay to use the freeways.
