Note From Robert Porter (Jan 12, 2010)FRIENDS / FANS, I ASK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE.This Wednesday morning is our best opportunity to stand up and be counted as fans, listeners, and friends of the DSC show. For 20 years, they brought smiles to our faces, fun to our mornings, and on occasion, tears to our eyes. In a city as big as ours, they gave thousands of us something we could all share: mornings and evenings made more enjoyable by their humor, their friendship, and their good company. They've supported our troops, our police officers, our firefighters - men and women from our community who have laid their lives on the line repeatedly - as well as their families, suffering in their absence. They've given thousands of dollars to families in our town who had been hit with hard circumstances during the holidays, and did all they could to help them feel better, heal sooner, or even keep from losing their homes. After all these years in San Diego, Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw aren't just part of our community, they're part of our lives. Clear Channel may have cast them aside, and they might never take them back, it's true. But the DSC is still here in our town, and the only way we're sure to lose them is if we do nothing while we have the opportunity to show our support. The radio landscape is changing like we've never seen before, and it's anybody's guess who will remain on the air when the dust settles, so it is absolutely imperative that we show all the other stations in town that The DSC has a listenership they could only DREAM of inheriting. We need every broadcaster and every advertiser in San Diego to notice how many people come knocking on Clear Channel's door Wednesday morning, to make their jaws drop at the loyalty we have for our friends, and the resolve to follow them and show them our support through good times and bad. Our goal must be to make our voices heard and our numbers counted. At the cost of just a single hour of your time, 7am to 8am, we can prove to Clear Channel and all other broadcasting companies around that WE don't just want The DSC, THEY do, too. PLEASE, my friends. All we need is one hour of your day, on just one morning of your life. Some of us have grown up listening to Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw, and some of us have grown old listening. They've been around for us for TWO DECADES now. Please give just a little part of your morning to show them you want them back on the air, or even just to say "Thanks." Remember that their livelihoods, their futures, their careers are very much in our hands right now. We can see to it that they can stay here and be back on the air somewhere for us to hear, or we can lose them to a different market or even an unplanned retirement. PLEASE DON'T LET US LOSE THEM. Come to Clear Channel this Wednesday morning and join us. Stand with us. Shout with us. Let your voice be heard and we can all tell Mr. Rickards, Ms. Dunn, and Mr. Randolph, just as Dave said, closing their last broadcast, "For twenty years, WE HAVE LOVED YOUR SHOW." Robert Porter Lash Wednesday DSC Rally! (Jan 9, 2010)Wednesday, January 13, 2010Time: 7:00am - 8:00am Location: 9660 Granite Ridge Drive, San Diego, CA 92123

You've been asking for it and now it's here. On Wednesday, January 13th at 7am, join your fellow listeners in a united show of support in front of Clear Channel Communications to show our extreme loyalty to the DSC! Since finding out that the show has been canceled, thousands of us have "virtually" rallied together on several Facebook groups and fan pages. We've relentlessly called and emailed about our displeasure, but now it's time to hit the pavement and rally together in person, right in front of Clear Channel. Remember, we have no budget, so bring your own signs, banners, and loud voices. Bring a friend or two as well. Bring mom, dad, the kids, and the family dog! We need to have a huge turnout for this to be successful, so let's show Clear Channel, San Diego, and the rest of the world how much we care about Dave, Shelly, Chainsaw, Boyer, Emily, and Ruth 66! Notes: We've chosen 7am as a start time in order to accommodate those who have to get to work and get their kids to school. There is no parking on Granite Ridge Drive. Fry's Electronics has a huge parking lot just down the hill and is a 10 minute walk from the rally. 9825 Stonecrest Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92123. The store doesn't open until 8am. If you do choose to park there, I encourage to go in and buy a little something after the rally to thank them for the use of the lot. Lastly, its very important the we follow all laws during this rally. We need to stay on the sidewalks and not block any driveways. We're an angry bunch, but ultimately peaceful. Media coverage is expected, so let's be on our best behavior because the world is watching us. Not only is this a protest against Clear Channel, but it's a rally celebrating all that we love about the DSC. Make sure to RSVP so we have a good idea how many will be coming and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Love your Show!
